INSIGHT

So He “first” loved us. When was this “first”?

Was it when He hovered over the waters at creation? Was He anticipating a love relationship then?

I think so.

And because of His love for us, we love Him and we love others.
We read about the first deception mentioned in Gen. 3:1-6. Satan wanted to steal Adam and Eve away from God. Not because he loved them, of course. But because he hated that God loved them. He didn’t want them to know God’s love. He didn’t want them to love God. He didn’t want them to talk to God. He didn’t want them to become a part of God’s family. He didn’t even want them to love each other.

Now, humankind has lost the precious connection with God and can easily dialogue with the enemy.

‘Then the Lord saw that the wickedness of man was great in the earth, and that every intent of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually. ‘  Genesis 6:5

There is a battle going on. Satan is against the survival of children; we see this through trafficking and abortion in our country and throughout the world. There are dangerous people who act on the evil in their heart. Pray for God to guard our children against harm, physically and spiritually. Pray for His vigilant eye to watch over each family member as they venture out into the world. Ask Him to shield children from danger and guide their steps away from harm’s way.

TURNAROUND QUESTION

Do children deserve to be loved if The Father loved them first?

Would you agree that Children have been marginalized for centuries, and indeed, are treated the same today?

Scriptures say that we must not provoke children (Col. 3:21). He draws us with His love, we love Him in return, and we love His children.

PRAYER

In the Name of the Lord Jesus Christ the Son and Lamb of God, we ask You to send all Heavenly angelic powers to come against every cruel and merciless power that may oppose children, including the unborn. We ask in Jesus’ name that you would break the power of any evil spirit that would attempt to harm, abuse, or afflict our children. We ask that the angels of the Lord would stand watch over our children and destroy the power of any assailant. We ask, Lord Jesus, that our children would walk in health, protection, means, and security. We ask that you would place your mighty warrior angels around any child, right now, in this moment, who needs your protection and refuge against the forces and spirits of evil.
We pray to the One who sits on the throne and to the Lamb , the One who is, who was, and who is still to come. The Almighty One. Amen.
