Introduction

God is the name above all names!  Let us teach our children that His name is to be remembered for generations!

Insight

Many Bible passages direct us to focus our attention on the children. Matthew 19:14 Jesus’ words say, “Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these.” and Proverbs 22:6, “Start children off on the way they should go, and even when they are old, they will not turn from it.”

Both passages instruct us to share the love and promises of God when they are little because they will carry it with them forever.

In the days we find ourselves living, corrupt behavior and immorality flood the senses of our youth, targeting them from every angle.

It has never been more important for us to share the love of God with the children, covering them in prayer, teaching them about integrity, modesty, and morality, ensuring they receive Godly instruction. When we guide and direct our children in the way they should go, they are equipped with the Truth to resist the worldly influence that bombards them on a daily basis.

The Word tells us in Philippians 4:8, “Finally brethren, whatever things are true, whatever things are noble, whatever things are just, whatever things are pure, whatever things are lovely, whatever things are of good report, if there is any virtue and if there is anything praiseworthy—meditate on these things.” This passage makes me think of the children’s song, “Be Careful Little Eyes”  What an awesome reminder for our little children to be mindful of what they watch, listen to, look at, and think about.

Finally, in Proverbs 3:1-4 we find a beautiful encouragement to children: “My child, if you truly want a long and satisfying life, never forget the things I’ve taught you. Follow closely every truth I’ve given you, then you will have a full and rewarding life. Hold on to loyal love and don’t let go and be faithful to all that you’ve been taught. Let your life be shaped by integrity, with truth written upon your heart. That’s how you will find favor and understanding with both God and men—you will gain the reputation of living life well.”

Let us be watchers on the wall, and teachers of integrity and Truth.

How do we make sure all generations remember His name?

Prayer

Will you join me in praying for the hearts and minds of children to guarantee the name of the Lord is remembered through all generations praising Him forever and ever?

Dear Heavenly Father,

Lord, We ask that you guard the children against the messages they are bombarded with daily. 

Lord, we claim the promise in Your word that no matter what weapon is formed against them, it will not prosper.

You tell us what is bound on Earth will be bound in Heaven and what is loosed on Earth will be loosed in Heaven. We come before You together, many as one voice, to petition for the battle against our children to be bound on Earth. We loose an army of angels to scatter across the Earth to stand guard at every opening to provide protection for every child. 

We pray for hedges of protection around the children to stop the attacks on their hearts, minds, and spirits. We cover them in the protection bought through the mighty blood of Jesus, ask Your Light to shine in the darkness and for restoration of the hearts and minds of our youth. 

We ask all these things in the Mighty and Faithful Name of Jesus, AMEN
