Week One Focus: God’s Vision and Desire is Generational.
God desires a relationship with His people and to give blessings that flow from generation to generation. God’s plan from the beginning was making a way for us to live in eternity with Him. Let’s step back in time and get a heart for what God desires and pray for the next generation to seek, know and love God.
BACKGROUND
Step back in time and take an aerial view of creation… Visualize the magnificent masterpiece of each day’s work that pinnacles with mankind. Imagine God’s heart towards us! For He so loved and desired us that He made us in His image-for relationship!
INSIGHT
Consider God’s words as He speaks the world into existence: “Let Us make man in Our image”! God’s design of all creation, rests upon the identity of who we are. Man’s identity of the image bearer of God, is the foundation of who man is and his relationship with God.
God is the author of all life! He designed everything to be in relationship with Him. Creation reveals to us who we are and our identity rests upon our relationship to and with Him!
How can mankind be in relationship with God today as He was with Adam and Eve?
It is through a relationship with Christ Jesus, His Son that we become one with Him. God made us, to be with us… to be in “oneness” with us as He is in Christ Jesus! From the book of John, listen to the heart cry of Jesus to Father God:
“… that they maybe one as We are one, I in them and You in Me, that they may become perfectly one, so that the world may know that You sent Me and loved them even as You loved Me. I made known to them Your name, and I will continue to make it known, that the love with which You have loved Me may be in them, and I in them.””
John 17:22,23, 26 ESV
Man was created by God and for God Himself that we may be one and loved by Him!
It is written, “let Us make man”. And it is written, “that they all may be one as You Father, are in Me and I in You; that they also maybe one in US…”
God is continually casting a vision before us that He is our God, our Father, our Savior and pleading for His people to seek Him! He is the author of all life! He is to be our God! And we are to be His people!
How do we return our country to one nation under God again? We live in a time when 80% of children do not attend church. What happened? In 1963, over 200 years of time-honored history and the traditions of the name of God, prayer and the Bible were removed from the public schools by the U.S. Supreme Court.
Now, consider 85% of decisions to follow Christ are made by the age of 14. Ask yourself: How can children have knowledge of God if they do not attend church AND the Schools teach secular humanism? We, as the Body of Christ, have been fed a lie that schools can be “neutral”. We must acknowledge that an education devoid of God produces a godless state. How will these children acquire knowledge of God? Through their parents, one would hope, but the breakdown of the family has also broken down the fabric of our society.
Let’s ask ourselves, how can children know their true identity? How else is there to pass faith if we do not pass it to the children? How can we rebuild America’s spiritual foundation?
Join us! Let’s adopt the schools as the mission field to rebuild America, one nation under God, for generations!
TURNAROUND QUESTION
Will we choose to walk as image bearers of God, and as one with Christ Jesus?
And, will we CHOOSE to pass this knowledge of man’s true identity in Jesus to the next generation?
PRAYER
Abba Father, thank you for creating us — all of mankind— in your image! And for relationship with you! When we ask Jesus into our heart, we no longer live alone, but as “one” with You Lord. Let us, as fellow believers, realize our total identity is tied to our relationship with You, Father God. Wake up the older generation to teach the young ones of their true image! May little children be taught their true identity … oneness in Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.
